Race 1. (12:30) Smith Highland Foundation-Bm78 2000m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

Not much of a race this, and with a state switch, upside with C Williams, I’ll give a chance to 8 Head Of State (BetNow: $7.00 TOP ODDS). He was awful first up behind Alcyone before being freshened up and running three weeks ago at Rosehill when okay behind Born A King. Fitter, lands on speed, he’ll take beating in a thin race.

Danger

9 Money Protection (BetNow: $8.00 TOP ODDS) is three weeks between runs for Nigel Blackiston since racing at this track/distance where he was near the speed throughout and battled away pretty well when third to Spanish Tides. I think he’s going well, nearing a win…wouldn’t shock if it came here.

Longshot

10 Unique Artists (Bet Now: $12.00 TOP ODDS) has found winning form…can she hold it? Lovely ride from Moor saw this mare win nicely on the Synthetic at Pakenham last time, rolling about a bit under pressure but was too good. Has proven herself in town before, so she has to be respected with upside to come.

Race 2. (13:05) Lamaro’s For Equine Pathways 1000m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

8Kin (Bet Now: $10.00 TOP ODDS) looks a talented filly for James Cummings. She resumed over 900m at Newcastle and I loved the way she knuckled down late to wear down Dashing Legend, a Stakes performed filly in her own right who won well last week at Hawkesbury, so the form reads very well, and I love when the Cummings stable switch between states. Hard to beat.

Danger

Very interesting runner is 6 Xtravagant Star (Bet Now: $3.10 TOP ODDS), who resumes for Team McEvoy. She won the Inglis Millennium at Randwick before contesting the Sweet Embrace where she didn’t handle the bottomless behind subsequent Slipper winner Fireburn. If she’s anywhere near right, she’ll take beating.

Longshot

2 Renosu (Bet Now: $10.00 TOP ODDS) is a James Cummings trained colt that comes to Melbourne several weeks between runs since a dominating all the way win at Hawkesbury in a maiden where he ran fast time, doing it btoh ends. Showed good promise as a juvenile and I think he might go on with it.

Race 3. (13:40) 4Cyte For Living Legends-Bm90 1400m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

I don’t think you can go wrong backing 2 Cyclone Sally (BetNow: $26.00 TOP ODDS) each way, especially with the wet track on the cards. Totally forgiving of her run at Sandown last time when given an awful steer from Alana Kelly, rolling forward for no reason instead of staying wide with cover. Newitt is back on, he’ll ping her to the front and she’ll only run well.

Danger

10 Saigon (Bet Now: $5.00 TOP ODDS) is the one on the up and has the Waller polish. She resumed at this track/distance three weeks ago where she was back near last in the run in a slowly run race and was never a factor, but liked the way she finished her race off when third to Lady Of Honour, who ran super last Saturday in the Let’s Elope, so that clearly reads well for this.

Longshot

8 Ocean Miss (Bet Now: $16.00 TOP ODDS) should be around the mark. Team Feek trained mare that resumed three weeks back at this track/distance where she was near the pace throughout and there to threaten, but couldn’t quite finish the job when second to Lady Of Honour. That clearly reads well for this.

Race 4. (14:15) Caulfield Guineas Prelude 1400m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

7 Convertible (Bet Now: $15.00 TOP ODDS) is a horse I have plenty of time for. He wasn’t suited fresh at Moonee Valley but I really liked the way he finished his race off when fourth to Shalaman, beaten just under two lengths but attacked the line with purpose. Fitter and up to 1400m, he’ll take beating.

Danger

2 Aft Cabin (Bet Now: $2.40 TOP ODDS) should love the rise to 1400m. He was 1400m back to 1200m here three weeks back and just got held up a crucial stage, but even allowing for that, he was no match for Jacquinot. Back up to 1400m, and with clear air early, he can bounce back.

Longshot

3 Zamborghinis (Bet Now: $17.00 TOP ODDS) is one that creates interest here. They’ve tried to get him to stretch out but I am starting to think that stretching out to potentially be a Caulfield Guineas horse, which I don’t think he is. So, 1400m is the query here, but a soft lead, potentially, helps offset that.

Race 5. (14:55) Thousand Guineas Prelude 1400m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

9 Hope At Hand (Bet Now: $12.00) looks to be in for a good prep. This filly resumed over 1050m at Morphettville two weeks ago and worked to the line with real purpose late in the peace when second to a sharp horse, Taunting. Showed good promise as a juvenile and the return behind a smart one was encouraging, so she’s hard to beat here.

Danger

Happy to give respect to 11 Sumatra (BetNow: $13.00). James Cummings trained filly that resumed in a Hawkesbury maiden where she looked a good thing on paper and under a peach from Clipperton, she was miles too good for them. Has been kept on ice for this race and with In Secret heading to the Golden Rose, this girl potentially becomes their #1 seed for the Flight/Thousand Guineas.

Longshot

5 Boogie Dancer (Bet Now: $6.00) is in the mix for sure. Strong winner at this track/distance two back before being given a let up. She went to the Atlantic Jewel two weeks back and and was good late without threatening behind Troach. Proven at 1400m and stable is flying, so I am not dismissing her.

Race 6. (15:35) Mrc Foundation Cup 2000m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

Fitter and on a firmer deck, I like 8 Crystal Pegasus (BetNow: $12.00). He resumed two weeks ago in the Chelmsford at Randwick on the bog track and he was far from disgraced in defeat behind Knights Order in an effort that was a definite pass mark. Fitter, up to 2000m and on firmer footing, I think he’ll only run well.

Danger

4 Sheraz (BetNow: $9.50) looks to be in for a really good prep. Chris Waller trained import that summarized three weeks ago in the Heatherlie where he darted up the inside and for a few strides he looked home but was nabbed late by Emissary. Fitter and up to 2000m, Caulfield Cup start on the line, he commands respect.

Longshot

13 Smokin’ Novels (BetNow: $8.50) looks ready to win. Maher/Eustace trained stayer that is several weeks between runs since racing at The Valley where he was there to beat stablemate Mankayan, but just found him too tough and too good. Hard fit now, he’ll take beating. against these.

Race 7. (16:15) Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes 1400m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

8 Ayrton (BetNow: $5.00) is a high quality animal for the Price/Kent stable that resumes and we know that he is an absolute bomb fresh. Mixed Autumn/Winter prep, though he did win fresh at this track/distance. Jumpout was good, likewise the trial last week. Just needs an economical run to be around the mark.

Danger

18 I Wish I Win (BetNow: $3.20) looks a very promising former Kiwi for Peter Moody that has the hype on him, and rightfully so, because he made an absolute mess of them three weeks ago at this track/distance, spanking them and smashing the clock. I am starting to query how strong his NZ form is, but off the resumption, he has to be rated as one of the hardest to beat.

Longshot

19 Age Of Chivalry (BetNow: $21.00) is a sneaky knockout hope. First run for the Price/Kent camp came at Moonee Valley two weeks back in the Chautauqua and he was very stiff, not getting much room to let down when close up behind Aysar. Fitter and up to 1400m on the bigger track, with enormous upside, he’s one I can certainly entertain for wider multiples.

Race 8. (16:50) How Now Stakes 1200m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

4 Chain Of Lightning (BetNow: $2.90) is an absolute beauty for Peter Moody. Made it 5/5 three weeks ago when a dominant winner of the Cockram at this track/distance, lowering the colors of Passive Aggressive. Kissonallforcheeks won the Let’s Elope last Saturday, so the form has been ticked off, and you don’t know how good they are til they’re beaten.

Danger

3 Argentina (BetNow: $9.50) will need luck from the gate but she has the quality to be dangerous. She resumes, having not raced since the Sangster when back and making up some ground without threatening behind Snapdancer. Liked the way she went in a recent Flemington jumpout and hopefully can settle closer in the run.

Longshot

You’d think this is D-Day for 7 Isotope (BetNow: $4.50). She resumed in the Cockram and while she was in restricted room, I thought she was entitled to finish the race off a bit better behind Chain Of Lightning. She is very hit and miss, but if she brings her best, she can certainly take this out.

Race 9. (17:25) Henley Homes For Rpc Hcp 1100m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

Very small each way bet on 8 Bless Her (Bet Now: $19.00) in the get out. She’s a swimmer who should get conditions to suit if the rain forecast is right and we are on a Soft/Heavy track. Three weeks between runs since a down the track effort behind Shooting For Gold here. Down to 51kg and with a wet track, I think she’s worth a peanut each way.

Danger

11 Curran (Bet Now: $9.50) has an awful racing pattern but he has a booming finish, which is the story of his life. He did that three weeks back here, working home with real purpose behind Shooting For Gold. If he was able to sit closer in the run, he’ll be dangerous and is capable of winning.

Longshot

10 Sartorial Splendor (BetNow: $34.00) will jump on the bunny and give cheek. He did that in the Regal Roller afew weeks back here and just felt the pinch at the end of 1200m when down the track behind Uncommon James. Back to 1100m I do like, and with hard fitness, good racing style, he could pinch a first four spot.
