Channel 7’s Spotlight exposes dark truths surrounding death of the king of pop Michael Jackson

Who was truly responsible for Michael Jackson’s controversial death by overdose?

It’s an issue that has divided the world for more than a decade.

The details surrounding his final days as the king of pop have remained secret — until now.

The TMZ documentary Who Really Killed Michael Jackson, which airs exclusively on Channel 7’s Spotlight tonight, exposes the darkest truths of his inner circle at the time of his death on June 25, 2009, aged 50.

The music legend’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe, who married Jackson in 1996, has confessed she could have done more when he became addicted to painkillers.

“I should have done something and I didn’t,” she tearfully reveals. “There is a number of people who died from addictions and in some way I was part of it.”

Rowe expressed regret and admitted she was “basically as bad” as the infamous Dr Arnold Klein, who has been accused of being an “enabler”, feeding the singer’s dangerous habit. “I was basically as bad as him (Klein) and I am so sorry I participated in it,” Rowe said.

According to former LA Police Department Coroner Ed Winter, Jackson died of a cardiac arrest with enough of the powerful sedative Propofol in his system to “put down a rhinoceros”.

“I really do believe that this death was inevitable,” an LAPD detective said. “Michael was going to get what he wanted. And if you said no, he would find someone who would do it for him.

“There are a lot of folks who are to blame that they have never had a reckoning for his death.”

Jackson’s personal physician, Dr Conrad Murray, was jailed for an involuntary manslaughter over the singer’s death. He said he would “always love Michael”, arguing he should not shoulder so much blame for the pop icon’s demise.

Murray claimed the singer manipulated him to give him the drugs, and that Jackson did not tell the former surgeon he was addicted to painkillers.
