Jada Pinkett Smith has always been an open book when it comes to hair loss.
During an episode of Red table talk In 2018, she detailed the raw and highly emotional impact of losing her hair, before sharing her experience with testing steroid injections to manage her condition.
“It was scary when it started. I was in the shower one day and I had just a handful of hair on my hands and I was like, ‘OMG, am I going bald?’ Red table talk.
In a recent post on Instagram, the star has shared another update on her condition.
She gave her followers a close look at the patches of hair loss on her scalp that have come with alopecia, an autoimmune disease that occurs when the immune system attacks hair follicles. It is a treatable condition, but not curable.

“Now, at this point, I can only laugh,” he said. “Everybody knows I’ve been battling alopecia and suddenly one day, look at this line here. Look at that,” she said in the video, painting a patch on her scalp.
“So it came out like this and this is going to be a little harder for me to hide. So I thought I’d share it so you don’t ask questions.”
“But you know Mom is going to put some rhinestones in there. I’m going to make myself a little crown. That’s what Mom is going to do.”
The 50-year-old actress and talk show host captioned her Instagram video: “Mom will have to take it down to her scalp so no one will think she had brain surgery or something. This alopecia and I will be friends … point!”.
