Match Ratings: Bolton 6-0 Sunderland – Low ratings for bad Black Cats

SUNDERLAND suffered their heaviest defeat of the season losing 6-0 to Bolton Wanderers.

The Black Cats put on a horrendous showing at the University of Bolton Stadium on a damning afternoon in Greater Manchester.

Digital Sports Writer Matty Jones watched the game this afternoon and scored the players’ performances…

4 Hoffman – His indecisiveness in coming for the ball led to the first goal. Did little to prevent the floodgates from opening.

4 Winchester – Struggled all afternoon to cope with Bolton with John who ended up on the scoresheet.

3 Batth – A horrible afternoon. Tortured by Charles, lost his head and scored an own goal with no one around him.

4 Doyle – Couldn’t live with Bolton’s attack and didn’t know when to close down or challenge. Lessons to be learned.

4 Cirkin – Would have been lower if he hadn’t been brought off in the 50th minute. Fossey ran him ragged and he couldn’t live with the winger.

5 Neil – Failed to impact the game and was overrun by Bolton in the midfield. Was brought off in the 50th minute.

6 Evans – The one player who can perhaps hold his head high. Didn’t do a tremendous amount wrong but failed to make a difference.

5 Dajaku – Tried to provide a threat on the right hand side but was completely taken out of the game by John.

4 Gooch – A bad day from an attacking and defensive perspective. Marked out of the game and was tortured by Fossey along with Cirkin on the left.

5 Embleton – Couldn’t influence the game enough and find the space in the right areas. An afternoon to forget.

5 Stewart – Completely marked out of the game by Ricardo Santos. Bullied in the air and barely had a touch. No shots all afternoon.

6 Clarke 53′ – Only one who provided a bit of spark and gave Bolton something to deal with. But couldn’t do much to change the outcome.

5 Pritchard 53′ – Another one who couldn’t the right areas and was bullied in attacking areas. Lost his head towards the end of the game.

6 Roberts 66′ – Provided an injection of spark dribbling at defenders but the game was gone at that point.
