Nothing beats a babbling brook for backyard birds

The creek is new and was installed last summer as part of our remodel. It was the idea of ​​My Lovely Wife. She wanted to see and hear water. She actually wanted to float in it, but our budget didn’t allow for that. And so we have an artificial stream: about 20 feet of fist-sized river rocks on top of a sheet of plastic that sits in a moat. The water flows over the rocks, cascades down a six-inch waterfall, and then is pumped back up through an underground pipe to do it all over again.
