‘Off Leash’ Would Bring a ‘Luxury’ Dog Park, Full-Service Restaurant To Alpharetta

Alpharetta could soon be home to Off-Leasha “luxury” dog park with a full-service restaurant. Lonnie Cooper Venturesa subsidiary of Cooper Holdings, INC.is seeking a Conditional Use Permit from the City to operate Off Leash, at 142 South Main Street and 125 Norcross Street, according to an application set to be heard on May 11, 2022.

The properties “are vacant and present an ideal opportunity for a new pedestrian and dog-friendly business in Downtown Alpharetta,” according to the application.

Cooper Holdings, INC. is from Founder lonnie cooperthe businessman behind CSE, a sports talent agency, among other companies. Cooper on Wednesday did not respond to What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.

“The Applicant plans to redevelop the property into a full-service restaurant and a luxury dog ​​park, Off Leash,” according to the filing. “The zoning of the property allows the restaurant as a permitted use. As such, this Conditional Use Permit request is focused on the dog park aspect of the redevelopment. Off Leash requires the approval of a Conditional Use Permit as an ‘outdoor recreation facility’ pursuant to the City of Alpharetta’s Zoning Code.”

In addition to its restaurant, the state-of-the-art dog park facility will feature
outdoor and indoor spaces. “Off Leash will be a community gathering space where families, friends and their dogs can gather, play, and connect with one another.”

If approved, the existing building on the property would be reconfigured inside and outside to create the 5,000 square-foot restaurant and a separate indoor area of ​​approximately 6,000 square feet. Landscape islands will be added in the existing parking lot and the vacant portion of the property would be transformed into the dog park.

The parking — 51 onsite spaces — would be shared between the restaurant and Off Leash. The dog park would operate on a membership business model with guest and day passes with proposed hours of operation being Sunday through Thursday from 8 am until 9 pm and until 10 pm on Friday and Saturday.
