Peter Andre has revealed he plans to move his family to Australia.
The Queensland-raised singer, who has lived in the UK since the ’90s, said he intends to relocate back to the Gold Coast “for as long as possible” in order to care for his sick mother, Thea, who is 86.
Andre, 49, who is currently starring as ‘Teen Angel’ in a London theater production of grease, will move his family down under from December, he wrote in a column for New magazine.
“If it all goes to plan, it’ll be December and we’ll all be going to Oz as a family,” Andre wrote.
“We want to get out there as soon as we can and stay for as long as possible, but it’s tricky with the kids’ school.’
“They have different timings, which makes it complicated.”
the Mysterious Girl singer shares Junior, 17, and Princess, 15, with ex-wife and former British glamor model Katie Price, and Amelia, 8, and Theo, 5, with his current wife of seven years, Emily MacDonagh.
Andre, who visited his parents, including father Savvas, 88, earlier this year when international borders opened, gave an insight into his beloved mother’s health struggles in an OK! magazine column published last week.
“My parents celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary last week. 67 years! It’s pretty amazing. Dad’s going to be 90 next year and mum’s 86,” he wrote.
“Mum’s struggling at the moment, though. She’s not doing great. She’s suffering a bit and declining.
“I was with her a few months ago. We’ve just got to be with her as much as possible. It’s just age. Ella she’s got all sorts of things going on now.
Andre was originally born in London, before his family relocated to Sydney in 1979 when he was just six years old.
They then settled on the Gold Coast when Andre was nine.
By the time he was in his late teens, Andre set his sights for the UK after getting his big break on the Australian talent show New Faces, which saw him land a recording contract.
In London, he recorded his debut single Drive Me Crazy, and his breakthrough hit, Gimme Little Sign, which peaked at number 3 on the Australian singles charts.
He gained further notoriety when he married Price, whom he met on the British version I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! in 2004.
They went on to launch their own reality show, Katie & Peterbefore divorce in 2009.
