Australian vice captain Steve Smith had a night to forget Thursday as he was trapped in an elevator at the team’s hotel.
Smith recounted his adventures on his Instagram story, before he was finally rescued.
“It’s not exactly the night I had planned, I’m currently stuck in an elevator, I’ve been here for about 25 minutes,” he said.

“I have tried to open the door, I have this side open, Marnus [Labuschagne] is on the other side.
“It could be here for a while.”
Labuschagne was kind enough to pull a bag of M & Ms through the door to the delight of his vice-captain.
After an hour, he was finally rescued, to some applause from his teammates.
“Back safely in my room, finally out of the elevator, that was certainly an experience. 55 minutes I’ll probably never go back.”
