UK man gets a bizarre tattoo of Nike’s trainer shoes on his feet

A British man has had his favorite pair of Nike’s inked onto his feet – but while his “wife loves it”, others aren’t as convinced.

A tattoo artist has divided opinion after making the bold decision to ink trainers onto a client’s feet.

Dean Gunther, 34, from Manchester, north west England, recently tattooed the pair of shoes onto a man’s feet, jokingly declaring his client would “never buy shoes again”.

The tattoo artist, originally from Bellville, South Africa, moved to the UK five years ago and opened his own studio called DG Tattoo art.

He first started inking people aged just 21 years old and has recently become a viral sensation for his tongue-in-cheek approach to inking after he teased that he’d gave one man the “perfect” six-pack in two days by tattooing his stomach with abs.

Dean recently shared a TikTok video of his newest creation, a pair of Nike trainers inked directly on to a man’s feet. The unique body art has racked up over two million views.

In the footage, the tattoo artist reveals the secret of how he inked the pair of shoes.

“I wanted to create the illusion that the person is wearing shoes, even though he’s barefoot,” he said.

“It will definitely make you look twice.”

After finding the trainers his customer liked best, Dean viewed the image in 360 degrees and then drew it onto the feet freehand.

The complex artwork took Dean around two hours to draw and another eight hours to tattoo onto both feet.

“Drawing the tattoo on freehand was the most challenging part,” Dean said.

“I had to make sure everything flows with the contours of the body.

“A stencil would not work in this case, so it’s all freehand.

“Once that was on, the tattooing was straightforward.”

Dean joked the tattoo came as a result of the client being “tired of paying for shoes”, adding it was “a great conversation starter” and that “his wife loves it too”.

TikTok users were quick to comment on the permanent shoes – but not everyone was a fan of the bold design.

“They’ll last you forever,” one said.

“You’ll save a fortune on trainers,” another joked.

Someone else thought the idea was genius, writing: “F*** me that’s clever.”

Some were stunned, writing: “Wow brave man, both feet.”

However, others were more skeptical.

One TikToker who was clearly not a fan quipped, “Just don’t,” in a play on Nike’s ever-famous slogan.

Another said: “What in the ‘I dare you too’ is going on here?”

“This is sad,” wrote a third.

One woman even declared it was a “strange thing to do”.

Dean, who recently won Best In Show at the Liverpool Tattoo convention with a stunning African-inspired tattoo that took three days to complete, has also given a hint about his next tattoo.

He says it will be one of the most emotional pieces he’s attempted as he hopes to bring awareness to cancer.
