They were only children when they were cast for Harry Potter, but young wizards are now adults and have very different paths.
They were the wizards-in-training who left us spellbound in the Harry Potter movies, but where did they get when Hogwarts closed its doors?
While the film’s main trio, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson have all had stellar careers on stage and screen, some of their classmates have taken different paths.
Almost two decades since the first movie Harry potter and the Philosopher’s Stone broke box office records by grossing $ A1.4 billion worldwide, child stars have become bodybuilders, Playboy model, and cage fighters.
One also found himself on the wrong side of the law, even before the eight-movie franchise ended.
In light of the Harry Potter reunion coming to Binge on New Years Day, this is what the magical children of Hogwarts did after casting their final spells.
BONNIE WRIGHT – Ginny Weasley
Wright, now 30, made her acting debut in the first Harry Potter film, starring in all eight films, and eventually her character married Harry himself.
Wright went on to star in a handful of small independent films, before moving on to directing and producing, which he is still doing. His three-part series, Phone calls, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. He released Medusa’s Ankles in 2018, starring Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs, and has also directed music videos for artists Sophie Lowe, Pete Yorn, and Scarlett Johansson.
She has gained recognition for her environmental activism, as an ambassador for Greenpeace.
JAMIE WAYLETT – Vincent Crabbe
Fans were baffled when Goyle’s partner in crime, Vincent Crabbe, disappeared from the last two films in the franchise despite playing a pivotal role in the book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
He was replaced by a new character, Zabini Blaise, for a crucial fight between Draco’s gang and Harry, Ron and Hermione.
Sadly, it was revealed that Jamie Waylett, who played Crabbe and is now 32 years old, was fired after being arrested for drug offenses.
He and a friend were arrested by police who found a knife and eight bags of cannabis in his car and later found to be growing the drug at his mother’s home in North West London in April 2009.
He was convicted and sentenced to 120 hours of community service.
Two years later, in 2012, he was arrested again, during the riots in London, and was found guilty of violent disorder, winning a two-year prison sentence.
It is not known what he is doing now.
AFSHAN AZAD – Padma Patil
Afshan played the twin Padma in the last five films, and she landed the role when casting agents visited her school and she auditioned “just for fun.”

In July of this year, she welcomed a girl with her husband of four years.
She was most recently seen at a German Comic-Con event alongside her Harry Potter co-star Matthew Lewis.
MATTHEW LEWIS – Neville Longbottom
Matthew took on the role of Neville when he was just 12 years old and instantly became recognizable around the world.
But fans of the franchise would hardly recognize him now, as he turned into a huge hunk.
In 2015, she surprised fans when she posed in her underwear for Attitude magazine, displaying an impressive six-pack.
Now 32, the actor has had a successful career since the series ended, starring in the film. Me before you, alongside Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin, and the television series Brides
HARRY MELLING – Dudley Dursley
Harry Melling played the wizard boy’s spoiled cousin in five of the films.
But he almost lost the role in the final movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part Two, because he had lost a lot of weight.
In the end, he played the role wearing a thick suit.
After the franchise ended, Melling said, “Now I can stop being a child actor, like the fat man, and start a new career, because nobody sees me as Dudley.”
Is not wrong. The talented actor, now 32, starred in the Netflix hit The Queen’s Gambit and it looks completely different.
JAMES AND OLIVER PHELPS – Fred and George Weasley
The identical Birmingham twins were cast as Ron Weasley’s prankster older brothers at the age of 14 and starred in all eight films.
They originally auditioned “to get a day off from school,” but have continued as actors ever since, most recently playing two police officers in a movie called Own Worst Enemy, which will be released in 2021.
At 35, they have lost their signature ginger locks.
In addition to acting, the couple host a popular podcast called Double trouble and they have become Instagram influencers, with 4 million followers among them.

The couple welcomed their first baby, Betsy Rose Hefner in August 2020, and Scarlett has also contributed to family finances by posing in men’s magazine in 2017.
She has also appeared in Dancing with the stars besides starring The vampire diaries Y Skies falling.
JOSH HERDMAN – Gregory Goyle
Actor Josh Herdman, known as Gregory Goyle, Draco’s bully, went from one henchman to another after embarking on a career as an MMA fighter.
He won his first fight in 2016, against Janusz Walachowski. He continues to share his fitness progress on Instagram, where he has nearly 170,000 followers.
“I chose MMA because I love the sport. It’s raw, exciting and unpredictable, ”he said at the time.
Josh, now 34 and a father of two with partner Jessica, told the Daily star he was a “party animal” and “needed something to focus on.”
He added: “It takes discipline, it takes tenacity, and it takes momentum to keep up.”
The tattooed fighter, now totally unrecognizable as the 13-year-old actor in the Potter films, appears frequently at Harry Potter conventions around the world, as well as continuing his MMA career with fitness classes.
But he still takes the occasional acting role, including the Anna Friel drama. Marcella and the recent ITV drama White House Farm.
